Artist Deedee Cheriel launched her career in the arts by making posters, T-shirts, and record covers while playing in the DIY girl bands of the early ‘90s Oregon music scene.
Her current artistic style is inspired by a wide variety of influences, including East Indian temples, punk rock, and her birthplace in the Pacific Northwest. Spirituality and connection are represented through personified natural elements and animals, their interactions conveying the ways we relate to the world around us.
Cheriel seeks truth through her art and hopes to “find commonalities and relationships between ourselves and our surroundings that inevitably confirm our greater humanity and quest towards love.”
