Mindfully harvested Yarrow (achillea millefolium) from the meadows of Northeast Michigan is distilled into a fragrant hydrosol to help tone and soothe your skin.
Flora + Fungi hydrosols are artisanally distilled in a traditional copper alembic still from plants they sustainably harvest from the forests of Michigan’s Sunrise side, or grow organically in their garden. They pH balance the hydrosols to the ideal pH for your skin, then add Leucidal (a natural preservative made from Lactobacillus). Hydrosols are suited to all skin types and can be incorporated into any skincare ritual.
Yarrow’s strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory abilities make it well suited to sensitive skin types struggling with redness or rosacea.
Used as a facial toner, hydrosols will help balance the pH of your skin before applying a moisturizer, help remove excess oil, dirt and debris and help to tighten your pores.

Inspired by the forest and all the botanical treasures it holds, Flora + Fungi Apothecary creates artisanal cosmetics using plants native to the Great Lakes Bioregion. They specialize in the extraction of botanical compounds by harvesting at the peak of their season from healthy ecosystems. Some plants are dried to be used in oil infusions, other plants are steam distilled to obtain their hydrosols and essential oils. Others are treated with solvents such as glycerine and alcohol to obtain potent extracts to incorporate into their products.
Honoring the rhythms of the nature is central to their process, formulating products in small batches using seasonal plants. They combine modern scientific research into wild flora and fungi with traditional plant knowledge of the indigenous cultures of North America to create modern products rooted in ancient traditions.
